Candy Cane Coral, Green, Caulastrea furcata

Caulastrea furcata coral also referred to commonly as Candy Cane,Trumpet, Candy, Torch or Bullseye coral.

 

This is a very easy to keep, fast growing, beautiful LPS hard coral. Requires medium water flow and moderate lighting. It will do well under both power compact fluorescents and/or metal halides.  This is a very hearty coral and is great for the beginner reef aquarist.

 

The photo is of the mother colony from which the coral was propagated. It was grown from a similar frag and is very hearty. Photo was taken thru the glass under 300 Watt 14,000K Metal Halide Lighting. Under 20,000K and/or actinic lighting it glows a bright neon green. Color and appearance may vary under different lighting.

 

This is a fast grower and in time, you too will have a full colony of this beautiful coral!
